The museum’s permanent collection and rotating exhibits focuses on American art produced in the Western Region of the United States. The museum features events free to the public, such as concerts and book readings. Along with its permanent collection, the museum features other art exhibits, which run for six to eight weeks. There are often exhibits located in the Collections section of the Merrill Library. The Museum also features a campus-wide collection of art and sculpture. Exhibits are advertised in the local media. The society’s goal is to service community singers who wish to sing at a high level. Musical pieces range from patriotic, seasonal and Broadway to musical masterworks. Group members have the opportunity to travel both within the United States and abroad, but travel is not mandatory. The society also participates with other choral groups. They have been in two PBS (public television) programs and have performed in Salt Lake City’s Abravenel Hall and Kingsbury Hall. Membership is by audition. Auditions are held at the beginning of September and again in January. Call for exact dates and times. Members pay quarterly dues of $25.00. The Old Lyric Repertory Company makes its home in the historic Caine Lyric Theatre sponsored by Utah State University Department of Theatre Arts. This is a capstone course for theater students in a professional theater atmosphere. Students work for a stipend full-time through the summer with equity actors and advanced actors, technicians, and designers from across the nation in true repertory style. They also provide an apprenticeship program for high school students. The opera company presents, in revolving repertory, professional opera at the Ellen Eccles Theatre in the summer. Opened in 1993.  “Opera by Children” assists school classes in writing, and producing original operas. Opera by Children is funded in part by Marie Eccles Caine Foundation, Cache and Logan School Districts. UFO provides audience enrichment activities such as: Literary and Production Seminars, Informances, Backstage Tours, Special Events

Mainstage and Conservatory seasons in the Morgan Theatre, blackbox and Caine Lyric Theatre.  Season subscription options are available Spectrum Ticket Office (435-797-0305), at the Customer Service Center of the Taggart Student Center, Room 212 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and at the door: $8 for adults, $6 for USU Faculty/Staff and senior citizens, and $5 for youth under 16 and non-USU students. USU students are admitted free with valid ID. Children under four are not admitted.  Mainstage productions run Thursday-Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. for two weeks.

The Youth Conservatory, established in 1978, is dedicated to increasing understanding of music and to instilling a lifelong appreciation for the musical arts. This is accomplished through group musicianship classes and individual piano instruction.  Students also participate in recitals and concerts, including the very popular Monster Concert each spring Various classes are geared to children of all abilities, pre-school age through high school.
